2006, It's Heating Up!
It has been 3 weeks and counting since my last post. I have been really busy lately, and there's a lot to catch up on. Just a few of the new developments; I have finally hired an apprentice, I am participating in the Denver Polo Club 2006 Invitational and Dressage for The Cure, and I have hired a new representative.
I am very excited to have committed to having someone work with me. My new apprentice is a fiber artist, which lends itself very well to bead work. I am looking forward to seeing what this new relationship contributes to my studio and how fast this will open my time up for other parts of the business.
My husband and I went to the opening reception for the Denver Polo Club yesterday afternoon. I will be donating a couple of pieces to Dressage for The Cure, which is on May 13th. The money from this event goes an organization called Renee's Friends Fund. Renee's Friends Fund assists with normal living expenses as patients obtain the treatments and therapies necessary to fight breast cancer. We met Renee, and she is a delightful and strong person. I will be selling belts and jewelry at the Polo Invitational in July and the opening reception got me exctied to do the event. Jim Guttau (who showed us around and introduced us to Renee and Erica) is a friendly and kind person.
As for the new representative - well I am anxious to see what happens. I am excited, but so far I have dealt with too many reps that haven't worked out. It is an interesting balance and I am definitely learning to trust my intuition more, after all if you don't trust yourself who can you trust?
