New Policy

It is funny that sometimes things come your way for a reason. At least that is how I see it. I have an account that ordered from me at a show, they insisted that they pay COD for the product. I have only had maybe 3 out of 70 accounts ask for COD so I said OK. Big mistake, and BIG lesson. Sending COD is not such a great idea. The company can refuse the order and it has now been in transit over a week. In this case they came up with every single excuse possible not to accept the package- "no note was ever left, we can't go pick it up, I don't think they will give it to me at the post office blah, blah, blah." The woman at the post office told me that is wasn't possible that no note was left and said " honey if I was you I would just cut your losses and have it sent back." I took her advice. I will be implementing a no COD policy from now on. Live and Learn.

The Past 2 weeks

Time flies when your running around. I still find it hard to believe that is has been almost two weeks since I have had a chance or even felt like taking the time to blog. I am in shipping mode. I have 4 to 6 orders to complete in the next 2 weeks and seem to keep getting distracted. I still haven't seen the piece on my belts in Accessories Magazine. I have had to send quite a few samples out for photos so therein lies the distraction. Back on track now, I will be working away to finish product for shippment while juggling how many castings, chains, jump rings etc to order. Last but not least, an old friend and colleague Brandi Shigley was in the Denver Post this weekend sporting one of my pieces. Brandi and I go way back. Before I started my business I started doing little trunk shows with Brandi. It was fun, I met some great people and it really gave me the realization that I could have my own business (I was working for TCO at that time). She now heads up Fashion Denver and has really found her forte. She is an amazing PR person and it is a great thing she is doing for Denver artists. Anyway, Brandi I am glad you are sporting your Amy Kahn- thanks.
