February's Stone

Amethyst has a long history. It starts with the greek myth, Dionysius, the god of intoxication was angered by a mere mortal and swore revenge on the next mortal that crossed his path. Then a young maiden named Amethyst crossed his path on the way to pay tribute to the goddess Diana. Protecting Amethyst Diana turned her into a beautiful clear quartz statue and when Dionysius saw this he weeped with remorse. It just so happens his tears were purple and turned amethyst into a purple colored crystal. Amethyst is thought to be a good antidote for drunkeness. It is considered a royal stone and was worn by royality. Amethyst is mined in Brazil, Uruguay, Bolivia and Argentina and some African countries. Its mohs scale of hardness is 7.

Feb. 7th

So the count down begins for V day! It always happens. All is quiet after the holidays and then V DAY creeps up on me. So the preparation begins for the last minute husbands and boyfriends to call with their orders. Maybe this will help them too, I am having a trunk show at La Di Da on February 9th from 6 to 9 pm.
