Before the Trade Shows

It always happens! Right before the trade shows. I get busy with orders that are crazy rushes. I always feel life gives you all or nothing all at once. The key is to learn how to get through the nothing times. At least it is for me. I have never really learned to do nothing. And how to do nothing without guilt. So I will be here doing all and getting ready for the Philadelphia Buyers Market. Come by and visit with me in Philly at booth # 408.

What is going on.

What is going on? The real question is what is not going on?

Show of Hands is auctioning off the Hands from their "Hand Project". They will be traveling around until September. I am excited to say that mine has been bid on already. (Click here to put in your bid) I am working on new items for Holiday and some lower end jewelry for my boutiques.

In less than 5 weeks I will be showing at the Philadelphia Buyers Market for American Craft- BOOTH # 408. Also my jewelry will be given to some of the artists preforming at the Mile High Music Festival. And I think my dog has fleas! That is the up to the minute update for me.

Show of Hands

I spent the better part of last week and the weekend working on a wall hanging piece for the Show of Hands Gallery. They are celebrating 25 years in business. They gave 60 artists a hand to decorate with their own vision and creativity. You can see the hands at the gallery this Saturday the 21st. An online auction also begins this weekend. From my understanding the hands will be traveling and showing at the opening of the Cherry Creek Arts Festival. I am very honored to be a part of this show.

The Scary Mango Incident

Last night my husband was sitting on the floor enjoying an old mango that had been in the back of the fridge. I felt it was questionable, but when I tasted a tiny piece it really good. Well he dropped the pit on the floor and the dog tried to grab it!!! James was fast enough and got it BUT- Then I opened my mouth and said " I used to let him taste some of the mango off the pit." Well just like that my husband held the pit and instead of just tasting the mango the dog SWALLOWED the whole damn thing!!! I lost my sh-t to say the least! All I could think was OMG he is going to die! My fear/freak out went into hysteria, I was overwhelmed by the idea that there was no way he could poop that out, that the pit would tear his intestine, that he could choke if he tried to throw it up.

We called the emergency vet and they told us it was not an emergency and to take him in first thing to our vet and get an x-ray (MADE my husband call our vet and leave a message.) All night long I woke up checking on the dog, making sure he was breathing (not choking).

Well finally at 6am when I woke up the dog was up moving around. He was alive and well and ready to go out. AND when my looked up again he was in the hallway trying to throw up the pit!! My husband ran over and my dog actually got the pit up and out! I have never been so happy to see my dog throw up! Worry and fear get you nowhere!!!

Las Vegas Baby!

We are finishing our last day at the ACRE Las Vegas show. Right before we left found out that my friend Renee(Hardware by Renee) from Oregon and her husband were flying out to go to Zion National Park the same time we would be in Vegas. Turns out our flights even arrived at the same time! We met up with Renee and Tim went for a drink and saved them from one of the Grossest Hotels in Vegas. It seems like every show I do I meet amazing people or run into someone that we have known from the past. James also ran into a friend from college on this trip who is the Manager at Roy's. I think the best part of these shows are the people you meet. The show went smoothly and now I am working on packing up pieces to send off to NY.
