Teaching Philosophy

Art gives us the opportunity to reflect on the beliefs, cultural values, and interpretations we experience in life. It is important for students to be able to understand and create images that allow them to express themselves, think critically, and question the dominant paradigm. My teaching philosophy is focused on helping students to grow and develop, gaining the ablitliy to decode the world around them. My hope is that art education will be an inspirational experience for students to learn about them selves and interdisciplinary subjects. Helping students gain the skills of critical thinking that will serve them in their professional and personal lives is my goal.
